I went to a Japanese church service this afternoon for the fun of it. I didn't understand a single thing about the sermon but they sang very familiar songs I could sing the English version by heart. I think most of them were very unsure in how to approach me, but I didn't feel put off by it but really felt quite warm and welcomed.
After service, where English services will always have biscuits and tea and coffee, they had a special today... kakigori!
Which is, as a Japanese lady who used to live in Singapore told me, ais kacang!!!!
